Cameroon’s Electricity Sector Reform Programme (PRSEC) awarded three contracts worth a total of CFAF 3.95 billion, including tax, to two Chinese manufacturers for smart meters and public-lighting metering kits. Signed on June 17 and 19, 2026, following authorization of direct-award procedures, the contracts were published by the Public Contracts Regulatory Agency on November 4. The largest contract, worth CFAF 2.20 billion, went to the Wuhan Sanfran Electronics Co Ltd/Future Master Engineering SARL consortium for 4,720 kits for Yaoundé, Douala and Bafoussam. Zhejiang Goldcard Power-Tech Co Ltd received the other two contracts, covering 13,500 meters for the Littoral and Southwest regions and 9,000 meters for northern regions.
