Electronics maker adds insect repellent feature to curb repair costs

VisionPlus Kenya has integrated insect-repelling features into its product range, including smart televisions, to reduce electronic malfunctions caused by insect infestations. Approximately 30% of hardware failures in Kenyan households are due to these infestations, shortening the lifespan of devices to about four months. The technology uses high-frequency sound waves to create an acoustic barrier against insects while treating critical components to prevent corrosion.
