The national coach of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sébastien Desabre, explained that Cédric Bakambu's absence from the national team is due to his late signing with San Diego FC in Major League Soccer. He emphasized that this does not mean the end of his international career. Logistical and health constraints related to the United States also contributed to his non-selection.
