Elon Musk says SpaceX and Tesla are exploring the largest merger in history

Elon Musk said SpaceX and Tesla have formed special committees to examine a possible merger that could create a company worth about $3.5 trillion. He said the idea has merit because of the companies’ complementary work in artificial intelligence and manufacturing, but no proposal has been agreed. Musk said any deal would need a shareholder vote and at least 50 percent support from Tesla shareholders. The merger would far exceed the $1.25 trillion union between SpaceX and xAI in February.
