Democrat James Talarico won a decisive Texas Senate race, turning the seat Democratic for the first time since 1988. According to the Financial Times, Elon Musk’s political action committee contributed $47 million to Republican Ken Paxton’s campaign, following a $158 million contribution to the Senate Leadership Fund in September. Musk also spread conspiracy theories about Talarico, who criticized a political system that allows a billionaire to buy his own senator. Musk was the midterms’ largest individual donor, contributing an estimated $446 million to support Republican candidates.
