Emir says Qatar has shown resilience in the face of ‘exceptional events’

Qatar’s Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani told the Shura Council that the region faced 'exceptional events' during months of instability amid the US-Israeli war on Iran. He stated that Qatar demonstrated resilience thanks to policies implemented beforehand and emphasized the non-negotiable security of the Gulf Cooperation Council. The Emir highlighted Iran's attacks on Qatar, including the strike on Ras Laffan in March, and stressed the importance of securing maritime routes and energy infrastructure. The conflict has disrupted global supply routes, especially the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively blocked, calling for increased efforts to safeguard navigation and energy facilities.
