Fight against HIV/AIDS: approximately 177,000 children supported between October 2025 and September 2026

Ivory Coast supported around 177,000 vulnerable children affected by HIV/AIDS from October 2025 to September 2026, during a review workshop in Abidjan. The national HIV prevalence is estimated at 1.68%, with a 66% decrease in new infections and a 75% reduction in AIDS-related deaths since 2010. Despite progress, 49% of children exposed to HIV are not receiving adequate treatment, and 43.3% are unaware of their serological status. Efforts focus on medical, psychosocial, and family support to improve the care of infected and vulnerable children.
