England and Wales to have specialist courts for rape cases

Prime Minister Andy Burnham announced that specialist courts to handle rape and other sexual offence cases will be introduced across England and Wales over the next two years. Each crown court will have at least one courtroom dedicated to these cases, providing victims with private entrances and waiting rooms. The measures, expected to cost around £23 million, aim to improve the justice system and meet the needs of victims.
