EPL: Carragher says Chelsea player is uncomfortable with Alonso’s tactics

Jamie Carragher says Maxence Lacroix, Chelsea’s £52 million summer signing from Crystal Palace, lacks the mobility needed for the man-to-man demands of Xabi Alonso’s tactics. After Chelsea’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on October 24, the former Liverpool defender said Lacroix looked more comfortable in a back three than in a four-man defensive line. The 26-year-old has featured in all eight of Chelsea’s Premier League matches this season. Carragher also described Chelsea’s defensive performances as average while praising Josh Acheampong’s development at right-back.
