EPL: Man Utd board pick two managers to replace Carrick

Manchester United's board has identified Unai Emery and Julian Nagelsmann as the leading candidates to replace Michael Carrick if the club parts ways with him. United is enduring its worst start to a season since 1986 and has failed to win any of its last seven matches in all competitions, including a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como. Carrick is still expected to lead the team against Bournemouth in Sunday's Premier League match. Emery is contracted to Aston Villa until 2029, while Nagelsmann has been unemployed since leaving the Germany national team after Euro 2024.
