Equity, IFAD target farmers with Sh25.8bn climate financing

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and Equity Group have launched a $200 million (Sh25.8 billion) financing agreement for smallholder farmers and rural businesses in East Africa. The Africa Rural Climate Adaptation Finance Mechanism (ARCAFIM) aims to finance 260,000 smallholder farmers and 500 MSMEs in countries like Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Rwanda. The program will include tailored financial products and training to help farmers address climate-related risks.
