Ethiopia: Explosions Heard at the Military Headquarters in Addis Ababa

Since September 23, fighting has resumed in northern Ethiopia between the federal government and Tigray rebels. During the night of September 30 to October 1, unknown-origin explosions were heard at the Ethiopian National Defense Forces headquarters in Addis Ababa, around midnight-1:00 AM, according to a diplomatic source and a local witness. An resident of the Tor Hayloch neighborhood reported hearing a loud explosion around 1:00 AM. Neither the ENDF spokesperson nor the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed's spokesperson has responded yet.
