Ethiopian Airlines has signed an agreement with Boeing to purchase ten cargo aircraft, including eight 777-8F and two 777F, with an option for eight additional 777-8F. The order is valued at approximately $5 billion, though the final amount remains confidential. The airline already operates a cargo fleet of 12 Boeing 777F, 3 Boeing 767, and 4 converted Boeing 737s, totaling over 140 aircraft. The order comes as Boeing prepares to transition from the 777F to the new 777X, amid increasing competition from Airbus following the launch of the A350F.
