Ex-defence spokesman's abductors demand release of members, seized livestock

The abductors of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, a former director of defence information, and his wife released a video showing the couple in captivity and outlining conditions for their release. Abubakar's wife demanded the release of three individuals identified as Sani, Aminu and Nasiru, as well as the return of seized livestock. The couple was abducted along the Marabar Musawa–Kafinsoli road in Matazu Local Government Area of Katsina State. According to Daily Trust, a notorious bandit leader, Kachallah Muhammad, who operates in parts of Katsina State, has reportedly established contact with the general's family.
