Ex-senatorial candidate jailed 10 yrs for selling petrol to Boko Haram

Babagana Habeeb, a former senatorial candidate in Borno State, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for selling petrol to Boko Haram terrorists. The Federal High Court in Abuja found that he aided and abetted terrorism by providing fuel, enabling insurgents to carry out attacks. Despite pleading for leniency due to his family situation, the court imposed a 10-year sentence, considering his 10 years in pre-trial detention.
