Extortion Network Targeting Europeans: Two Years Imprisonment Requested for 'Madré' and a Belgian National

The Dakar correctional court has requested two years of imprisonment for Ibrahima N., aka « Madré », 26, and Belgian Jean-Jacques M., 68, in a blackmail network targeting European nationals. The group used online dating sites to lure men to Senegal, where they were kidnapped, robbed, and forced to pay ransom. Jean-Jacques M. was reportedly held on Ngor Island, robbed, and coerced into asking his brother for 7,000 euros, of which 5,000 euros were transferred. The verdict is scheduled for October 14.
