Faced with challenges in law enforcement, justice auxiliaries trained on gender-based violence in Bunia

The NGO Réseau genre et droits des femmes (GEDROFE) organized a three-day workshop in Bunia to train justice auxiliaries, including clerks, secretaries, and judicial police officers, on legal provisions related to gender-based violence and free legal aid. The training focused on ordinances n°23/023 and n°23/024, enacted in September 2023, which amend the Penal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code. Nathalie Yoka stated that some provisions are still insufficiently implemented, making it difficult for victims to access justice, but the aim is to improve their support.
