Facing Apple's Handoff, Microsoft Strikes Back: Your Android Will Colonize Windows 11 Taskbar

Microsoft is testing several features to integrate Android smartphones directly into Windows 11, bypassing the Phone Link app. According to Windows Central, three technical components are being tested: an enhanced Phone Companion dashboard, a dedicated notification area icon, and full clipboard history sync. A software layer called Continuity SDK already exists, supported by Samsung, Honor, Huawei, Oppo, and vivo. The lack of iOS support is noted in contrast to Apple.
