Volkswagen lost its top position in China to BYD in 2024 and fell to third place behind Geely in 2025.

REA Managing Director Abba Aliyu said the agency had facilitated more than 1,000 mini-grid installations and helped power agriculture and other rural economic activities. The report also commended agrivoltaics projects in Nigeria and Ghana that combine solar power generation with farming on the same land.
