A widely circulated claim states that Cameroonian President Paul Biya appointed his son, Franck Emmanuel Biya, as vice-president, but this is false. No appointment has been officially made, although Parliament has adopted a proposal to reintroduce the position. The procedure still needs to be finalized by the head of state, and the current Constitution does not provide for a vice-president.
