The FBI arrested nine suspects in Nigeria during Operation Blackout, targeting scam centres that defraud Americans. FBI Director Kash Patel said investigators seized 53 electronic devices and identified $11 million in funds that could potentially be frozen across several countries. The wider London-coordinated operation resulted in 28 arrests in Nigeria and Ghana, while Meta and 14 other technology companies removed more than 3.7 million fraudulent accounts, pages and groups. Nigerian authorities will prosecute the nine suspects as investigations into the funds continue.
