FCT Police Arrest Two Suspected Cable Vandals in Guzape

Federal Capital Territory (FCT) police arrested two men suspected of belonging to a cable-vandalism gang in Guzape, Abuja, and recovered several cut-to-size armoured cables. Spokesperson Josephine Adeh said officers spotted suspicious vehicles on Walter Ofonagoro Street at about 1:30 a.m. on October 31, 2026; their occupants fled, leaving one man who was arrested after a chase. The first suspect, Sagir Abubakar of Kuchigoro Village, was allegedly linked to the gang, and a second suspect, Seidu Umar Bello, was later arrested. Both men remain in custody as investigators work to identify other gang members and establish the extent of their activities.
