FCT police foil kidnapping attempt after thirty minutes gun battle with bandits

Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command foiled a kidnapping attempt in Byazhin, Kubwa, Bwari Area Council, Abuja. Armed bandits tried to force entry into a house to abduct occupants, but police acting on intelligence engaged them in a fierce gun battle lasting over 30 minutes. The suspects fled into surrounding bushes with gunshot wounds; police recovered one AK-47 rifle, one magazine, and seven rounds of live ammunition. The intended victim, Mr. Samson, and his wife were rescued unharmed and taken to General Hospital, Gwarinpa for trauma-related treatment.
