FEDECafécacao Aims to Break the Chain of Brave Producers to Bring Out Wealthy Producers

The Ivorian Coffee-Cocoa Producers Federation (FEDECafé-Cacao) was launched in Yamoussoukro on September 30, 2026. It aims to shift from the traditional 'brave producer' model to a more professional and wealth-generating approach by promoting quality, establishing a rural investment fund, and improving producers' living standards. President Gervais Assié emphasized the need for the sector to produce wealthier producers and to address current challenges with technical solutions, including a white paper for policy proposals. The federation also seeks to enhance producer participation in public policy and reduce reliance on informal financing.
