Federal High Court Dismisses Suit Seeking Faruk’s Reinstatement as Sokoto ADC Chairman

The Federal High Court dismissed a suit by Umar Faruk, former chairman of the ADC in Sokoto State, and other party members seeking his reinstatement. Justice Ahmad Gama said the plaintiffs had not provided sufficient evidence, exhausted the party’s internal dispute procedures, or shown that their fundamental rights had been violated. He also held that the court could not intervene in a political party’s internal affairs. Respondents’ counsel Suleiman Usman praised the ruling, saying it reinforced the rule of law and democratic institutions.
