FG clarifies BEA scholarship status, rules out reinstatement

The Federal Ministry of Education clarified that the inclusion of the Bilateral Education Agreement (BEA) Scholarship in the 2026 national budget does not indicate the reinstatement of new scholarship awards. Minister Dr. Tunji Alausa explained that the allocation originated from the 2025 budget, which was approved before the halt of new BEA scholarship processing. He also reassured that Nigerian students currently benefiting from the scholarship abroad would continue to receive full government support.
