FG expands national tertiary institutions’ ranking, makes participation compulsory

The Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, has expanded Nigeria's national tertiary education ranking framework to include universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education. Participation in this ranking is now compulsory for all tertiary institutions as part of President Bola Tinubu's educational reforms. The initiative aims to strengthen quality and competitiveness among institutions, with a ranking exercise set to commence in September 2026 for universities.
