FG probes ‘sharp sharp’ loan operators over privacy violations

The Federal Government of Nigeria is investigating the activities of some ‘sharp sharp’ loan operators for alleged violations of customer privacy. National Commissioner of the Nigeria Data Protection Commission, Vincent Olatunji, stated that these lenders access borrowers' contact lists and send defamatory messages without consent. He also emphasized the need for increased public awareness regarding borrowers' rights.
