FIFA announces USA to host first Women’s Club World Cup in 2028

The United States will host FIFA’s inaugural Women’s Club World Cup from January 5 to 30, 2028. The tournament will feature 19 clubs from all six continental confederations, including six European teams and three representatives each from Asia, Africa, North America and South America. Seven clubs have already qualified, including Arsenal, Barcelona, Gotham, Corinthians and Club América Femenil. FIFA says the event, to be held every four years, marks a major step in the professionalisation and global expansion of women’s club football.
