Fight Against Illegal Gold Panning in Soubré and Buyo: BSSI Destroys 4 Sites and Arrests One Individual

On August 29, 2026, the Special Brigade for Surveillance and Intervention (BSSI) conducted a control operation in the Nawa and San Pedro regions, neutralizing four illegal gold panning sites. Led by Lieutenant Diega Eric Landry, the operation involved around twenty agents and resulted in the destruction of 17 crushers and 17 motor pumps, as well as six makeshift shelters. One individual was arrested during this intervention.
