Financial transparency: OECCA-Benin proposes discussions with the CES on governance

On October 15, 2026, OECCA-Benin president Serge Mensah proposed to Economic and Social Council president Abdoulaye Bio Tchané that their institutions establish a framework for consultation. Discussions would cover governance, financial transparency, resource mobilization and sustainability. The delegation also announced the 8th UEMOA Congress of Accountants, scheduled for October 21–22 in Cotonou, with more than 500 participants expected. The congress will coincide with the 20th anniversary of OECCA-Benin.

An explosion targeted the Jbessa gas pipeline in Hasakah province, while a fuel leak was found on the Baniyas-to-Homs pipeline near Hadida.
