Fire breaks out on Mount Kilimanjaro again.

A fire has erupted on Mount Kilimanjaro, first detected on September 3, 2026, in the Kikelewa ward at the border of Kilimanjaro National Park and Rombo District. Efforts to contain the flames are ongoing, but the cause of the fire remains unknown. Tourism activities, including mountain climbing, are unaffected. In 2023, China pledged 2.5 billion shillings to assist Tanzania in combating fires on Kilimanjaro.
