Fishes, periwinkles, crabs return to Ogoni creeks — FG

The Federal Government announced that aquatic life and the ecosystem have largely recovered in many creeks across Ogoni, Rivers State, due to ongoing environmental remediation efforts. During the anniversary of the Ogoni cleanup project, Environment Minister Balarabe Lawal highlighted the return of marine life as evidence of ecosystem recovery, which is vital for the local economy. The second phase of the shoreline cleanup and mangrove restoration program was also unveiled.
