Five Oil Tankers on Fire in the Strait of Hormuz, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Say

Iranian armed forces say five oil tankers and a tug caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz after incidents involving mines, according to the Revolutionary Guards cited by Fars and state media. Maritime security agencies have not confirmed the reported incidents, while Washington says it has largely cleared mines from the strait. Separately, the UKMTO reported that a tanker was hit by two unidentified projectiles off northern Qatar, several hundred kilometres west of the strait. The Revolutionary Guards also said they had taken control of two US Lucas drones in Iranian airspace.
