Flood: NEMA tasks Benue on early warning, evacuation, emergency response

The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has urged the Benue State Government to enhance flood preparedness and improve coordination among emergency response agencies. During a flood response simulation exercise in Makurdi, NEMA's Director-General, Zubaida Umar, emphasized the importance of early warning systems and timely evacuation of residents in vulnerable communities. The National Flood Early Warning Systems Centre identified several high-risk locations, advising residents to monitor alerts and protect essential belongings.
