Flydubai attacker began a 'drift towards extremism and terrorism' in Australia, UAE says

The Omani co-pilot suspected of attempting to hijack a Flydubai flight began a path towards extremism and terrorism while studying in Australia, UAE officials say. Hamam al-Hammami, 29, allegedly tried to crash the plane into Tel Aviv in a suicide attack but was overpowered by passengers. Investigations showed he was inspired by the 9/11 attacks and influenced by extremist literature and online content during his studies in Australia.
