Food inflation hammers households in war-hit Iran

Skyrocketing inflation is jeopardizing food security among households in Iran, according to new figures. President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that current difficulties require citizen cooperation to overcome problems. In April, the inflation rate reached 73.5% compared to the previous year, while the Central Bank reported a slightly lower rate of 67%. Iranians are already feeling the effects of this inflation on their purchasing power.
