For Macron, Mali did not make the best decision in expelling the French army

Upon his arrival in Nairobi, Emmanuel Macron commented on the departure of French troops from Mali, stating that it was probably not the best decision for the country. He recalled that the French army had been present since 2013 to fight terrorism but had to withdraw in 2022 following a military coup. Macron also paid tribute to the 58 French soldiers who fell in the Sahel between 2013 and 2020.
