Former EACC Boss and NACADA CEO Among Nine Shortlisted for IEBC CEO Job

Kenya’s Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) shortlisted nine candidates for its chief executive officer position, including former EACC CEO Halakhe Waqo and NACADA chief Anthony Omerikwa. The list published on October 28 also names Harley Mutisya, Edmund Odiwuor Malitt, Andrew Gitau Kimani, Mohamed Abdullahi Abdi, Edward Katama Ngeywa, Martina Wato Yattani and Nelly Ilongo. The candidates were selected from 304 valid applications received after recruitment opened on July 28 and closed on August 11. The IEBC said it considered gender, regional balance and inclusion of persons with disabilities.

Israel’s parliamentary vote on Tuesday, October 27, drew 77.7 percent turnout, the highest since 1999, but left no bloc with a clear majority.
