Former Murang’a Governor Mwangi wa Iria is facing new corruption charges related to a Ksh351 million media procurement deal. He is accused of conspiring to commit a corruption offense between October 2014 and June 2017, as well as a conflict of interest charge. Prosecutors allege he received Ksh31.8 million linked to the contracts, part of which was used to acquire property in Nairobi.
