Former Nairobi Water Employee Convicted Over Fake Degree, Ordered to Repay Ksh4.75 Million

Okandah William John, a former employee of Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC), was convicted for using a fake University of Nairobi degree to secure employment and earn over Ksh4.7 million in salary over seven years. The Milimani Anti-Corruption Court found him guilty of fraudulent acquisition of public property, uttering a false document, and deceiving a principal. The University of Nairobi confirmed the degree was not genuine. He was acquitted on a forgery charge due to insufficient evidence.
