Former Niger CP Diseye Nsirim dies after brief illness

Former Commissioner of Police in Niger State, Diseye Desire Nsirim, died on Monday, September 21, 2026, after a brief illness. She was the first and, according to the police, the only female Commissioner of Police to have served in the state from 2012 to 2014. During her tenure, she contributed to crime prevention and public safety, including dismantling terrorist groups. Current Commissioner Adamu Abdullahi Elleman expressed condolences to Nsirim's family.
