Former US officials call on 2028 candidates to denounce Biden’s Gaza policy

Twelve former Biden administration officials who resigned between late 2023 and 2024 over US policy on Gaza have urged potential Democratic candidates for the 2028 presidential race to denounce that policy. In a joint statement, they called on candidates to pledge not to hire officials directly responsible for enabling Israel’s military actions in Gaza. They described US support for Israel as “illegal and unconditional” and called for consequences for those they consider responsible. Palestinian health authorities say at least 74,564 Palestinians have been killed and 175,770 injured since October 2023.
