Since the inauguration of the Nelson Mandela Bridge in March 2022, the entry roundabout to Foundiougne has become an accident-prone area, with nineteen recorded accidents, the latest resulting in the death of a 15-year-old girl. Prefect Jean-Paul Ndour has summoned technical services to find solutions to this alarming situation. Heavy trucks, often at uncontrolled speeds, are primarily responsible for these accidents, making the roundabout dangerous for users.
