Four Political Parties Announce Changes in Leadership, Headquarters, and Identity

Four Kenyan political parties have notified the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) of proposed changes ahead of the 2027 general election. The Movement for Democracy and Growth (MDG) plans to amend its constitution and update its national officials, including naming Monica Apio Mungála as National Chairperson and Julius Ouma Jwan as Secretary General. The Party for Peace and Development (PPD) proposes moving its headquarters to Mukima Drive, replacing its triangle symbol with a jug, changing its colours, and making several leadership appointments. The proposals, along with changes planned by the Democratic Union (TDU), are open to public review, with written objections due to the ORPP within seven days of the notice’s publication.
