Political donors could face tougher residency rules

The UK government is planning to tighten residency rules for political donors to ensure that those making significant donations reside in the UK. This announcement follows £72 million in donations to Reform UK from two British billionaires, Ben Delo and Christopher Harborne, who have recently lived abroad. The bill currently under scrutiny in Parliament would introduce a minimum residency period of 12 months for donors returning to the UK.
