France: 28-year-old man arrested in a mosque with bladed weapons

A 28-year-old man was arrested on November 1 after entering a mosque in Rodez with a dagger and a knife. He reportedly said he wanted to convert to Islam, but his condition and the weapons he was carrying raised concern. Initial checks found a blood alcohol level close to 0.77 mg and a record of prior delinquency; he was not, however, known to intelligence services. The prosecutor in Rodez took up the case, and terrorism is not being considered at this stage.
