The ANSM has launched a project to extend the shelf life of 73 medications, involving 14 pharmaceutical laboratories. Among the medications affected are paracetamol and levothyroxine, with the shelf life potentially increasing from two to three years to at least four years for 47 of them. This initiative aims to reduce the waste of unused medications, which amounted to 9,960 tons in France in 2024.
