France: Macron rejects government resignation amid rioting

After a weekend of violence, Laurent Nuñez offered his resignation to Emmanuel Macron, who rejected it to ensure continuity in the command of law enforcement. Authorities reported more than 2,400 arrests and nearly 1,000 law-enforcement officers injured; as many as 30,000 looters were reported in Marseille.
