France: One person killed and four others injured in shooting

One person was killed and four others seriously injured Friday in a shooting from a vehicle in the Paris suburbs of Trappes and La Verrière. Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said shots were fired at three locations with a weapon that appeared to be automatic. A suspect was arrested and taken into custody, while France’s national anti-terrorism prosecutor investigates, including whether the shooting had a racist motive. Trappes mayor Ali Rabeh said the gunman appeared to target passersby at random and that the person killed was of African origin.
